The history is full of countless examples of failed M&A deals, I think it good to discuss some of them and why they failed. ill start with the hp acquisition of Autonomy in an attempt to move away from hardware and into software. hp ultimately lost a total of $5B on that deal due to DD issues that can be traced back to inaccurate income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow figure.
