Prof. Dr. Christopher Kummer

Dr. Christopher Kummer is the President of IMAA and a Professor of Finance at IUBH, Lecturer at University HAG St. Gall, and Affiliate Faculty at Institute for Strategy & Competitiveness at Harvard Business School. In his expertise, he combines profound knowledge as an academic, with hands-on knowhow and real-world insights as a practitioner in M&A that he gained at PwC and as an adviser in M&A and integration.

Prof. Dr. Aswath Damodaran

Professor Aswath Damodaran is the Kerschner Family Chair Professor of Finance at the Stern School of Business at New York University. Over decades he has created and helped shape the field of valuation. He teaches the corporate finance and valuation courses in the MBA and executive programs. Being at NYU since 1986, he has received the Stern School of Business Excellence in Teaching Award. His research interests lie in valuation, portfolio management and applied corporate finance. He has published papers in the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, the Journal of Financial Economics and the Review of Financial Studies.

Ajit Sane

M&A professional with multiple years of experience in leading acquisition integration teams in Corporate Development, Integration Management Office, IT, Sales and Marketing Corporate Functions. Led dozens of Acquisitions/JV’s/Divestitures E2E from Due Diligence, Go to Market Strategy, Integration Planning, Execution, Customer/Partner Migration, and Operational Transition. Managed large IT/Operations transformational initiatives in support of changing business models and processes. Co-founded Spanatix Inc., Sport Social Networking and Gaming startup.

Alexis DeBernardis

Alexis is a member of Crowell & Moring’s Antitrust Group, where she represents corporate clients in a wide range of antitrust issues, including competitor collaborations, teaming arrangements, M&A, joint ventures, information sharing, interactions with competitors, and issues related to the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act. Her experience covers several industries, in particular, healthcare providers and payers, aerospace and defense, telecommunications, and financial services, and she regularly represents clients before the U.S. antitrust agencies.

Alexis Gilman

Alexis J. Gilman is a partner in Crowell & Moring’s Antitrust & Competition Group in Washington, DC. Alexis advises and represents clients on a broad range of civil antitrust matters, including merger reviews and clearances, government investigations, premerger Hart-Scott-Rodino (HSR) notifications, and antitrust litigation, with a particular focus on representing merging parties and third parties in merger investigations by the Federal Trade Commission, Department of Justice, and state attorneys general. Prior to Crowell, Alexis served at the Federal Trade Commission for seven years, including three years as head of the Mergers IV Division, and he also worked as an Associate in the antitrust group at another international law firm.

Alisa Choo

Alisa is an Associate Principal within Mercer’s Asia M&A Transaction Services Team. She has more than a decade of experience in designing and managing organizational change, organizational wellness, leadership development, training and crisis management projects across a wide range of industries in APAC, including financial services, oil & gas, information technology and FMCG. Alisa holds a master’s degree in organizational psychology from City University of New York. She is an ICF Certified Master Performance Coach and a certified Professional Scrum Master™ (PSM I).

Andre Gan

Andre heads the Corporate, Commercial & Securities and Competition Practice Group of Wong & Partners, and the regional mergers & acquisitions (M&A) practice of Baker McKenzie’s Asian offices. His practice covers mergers and acquisitions, corporate securities, venture capital and private equity, and competition.

Andre is recognised in the leading legal directories including Chambers and Legal 500, and has published numerous articles in leading business publications in relation to corporate and competition law. He has also worked in the Singapore and London offices of Baker & McKenzie International.

Ashley Linken, MBA, GRP

Ashley is a Principal based in the New York Metro area at Mercer, a global consulting leader in talent, health, retirement, and investment. She specializes in the integration and project management of global Corporate M&A Transactions.

Bernd Oehring

Bernd advises corporate and financial sponsor clients on, in particular:
– Mergers & acquisitions (M&A) and carve-out preparation and execution, including due diligence and post-merger integration (PMI)
– Strategy and business case development
– Performance improvement / value creation, including restructuring / turnaround
Bernd’s track record features, among others:
– Investment banking transaction execution totalling in excess of €140 billion in M&A, debt, equity (including IPO) and financial derivatives

Brian Kenet

Brian Kenet, MBA, is a Senior Business Advisor at Anchin who advises architecture, engineering, environmental, and construction (A/E/C) firms on growth, transition, and exit strategies.
Brian came to Anchin after 15 years as a consulting principal at a boutique financial advisory firm, where he advised many dozens of prominent A/E/C clients to complete successful M&A transactions – both on the ‘sell’ and ‘buy’ side, along with advising them on the entire spectrum of topics related to growth and transition, valuation, succession and leadership development, operations benchmarking and performance improvement.

Throughout his career, Brian has excelled at assisting clients on strategic acquisitions, helping these firms spark organic growth, while bringing in new, entrepreneurial leadership talent into the firm. His experience working on successful talent retention strategies and helping firms plan for the next generation is second to none.

Brian taught popular Professional Practice courses as a faculty member at Harvard Graduate School of Design for ten years, and more recently at Yale School of Architecture and Columbia Graduate School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation. He continues to return to Harvard and Yale annually as a guest lecturer. Brian received his Bachelor’s Degree from Harvard College and his MBA from Pace University.

Candy Dai

Candy is the M&A Advisory Services Leader for Southeast Asia at Mercer. She specializes in due diligence and post-deal set up/integration of HR programs
Candy has over fifteen years of consulting experience and has advised both Private Equity as well as Corporate clients in the North America and Asia on various types of transactions including acquisitions, divestitures merger. She has worked on over a hundred transactions covering various sectors such as technology, manufacturing, retail, healthcare, media, telecommunication and pharmaceutical industries.

Caroline Berube

Caroline is a Canadian New York/Singapore attorney who has been based in Asia handling corporate/ commercial law and IP matters in the Asia Pacific region for more than 24 years. She has built up a well-respected level of expertise and is especially well-regarded for her practical advice on M&A and IP in Asian countries.

As the managing partner of HJM Asia Law & Co LLC since 2007, Caroline leads the HJM teams in China and Singapore advising mid-size companies on their corporate, commercial and intellectual property needs in various industries including manufacturing, energy, trading, technology, biotechnology, e-commerce and real-estate.

Chirag Shah, MBA, CPA CA

Chirag Shah is currently seconded to PwC UAE from PwC London – to be part of the Private Equity and M&A tax team at PwC Dubai, providing services in relation to M&A transactions and international tax to a variety of clients – advising on all aspects of a deal from initial due diligence and structuring, tax modelling and SPA implications, through to post deal integration. He has managed a wide range of global, domestic and crossborder transactions (both buy-side and sell-side) including acquisitions, divestments, reorganisations, refinancing and management buy-outs and has extensive experience involving a wide range of analytical, organisational, technical, problem-solving, presentational and communication skills.

Chris Mellen

Chris Mellen is a Senior Managing Director with Valuation Research Corporation (VRC), leading its Boston office. Previously, he was president of Delphi Valuation Advisors, Inc., which he founded in 2000 and sold to VRC in 2015. His experience includes involvement in over 3,500 business and intangible asset valuations since 1989. He has served on several valuation committees, led over 100 seminars, published over 40 articles, and provided expert testimony in court. Chris is author of the third edition of a 480-page text book, Valuation for M&A: Building and Measuring Private Company Value, published by Wiley in 2018.

Clemens Leitner, LL.M

Clemens Leitner studied law at the University of Graz and completed his Master´s degree in International Banking and Finance at the University College London (UCL). Subsequently, he worked during several years for various international law firms in Vienna. He joined Luther in May 2017 as a “Registered Foreign Lawyer”.

In 2020, Clemens passed the “Foreign Practitioner Examination” which generally entitles him to practice Singapore law in the Permitted Areas of Law, such as Banking & Finance, Corporate & Mergers & Acquisitions and Securities Law. He is now registered in Singapore as “Foreign Qualified Lawyer”.

Darryl Kinneally

Darryl is EY Asean Private Equity Tax Leader and Partner, International Tax and Transaction Services at Ernst & Young Solutions LLP in Singapore. He has extensive experience in international tax and the tax aspects of M&A and infrastructure funding.

Darryl handles tax structuring and due diligence relating to M&As for businesses locally and internationally. His clients include listed Singapore companies and multinationals from sectors such as precision engineering, travel, private equity funds, and food and beverage.

He is a Chartered Tax Adviser of The Tax Institute, Australia, and member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand. Darryl holds a Bachelor of Commerce from University of Queensland, Australia.

Dave Cummings

David Cummings has been a co-founding Managing Partner of Agile Equity since 1998. Mr. Cummings is responsible for the strategic development and continued expansion of the firm’s investment banking business, including sourcing and executing both domestic and International transactions in IT services, software and healthcare industries.
Mr. Cummings has over eighteen years of corporate finance experience through a diverse background in mergers and acquisitions, equity and debt financing activities. Mr. Cummings has successfully completed over one-hundred M&A transaction with several billion dollars of enterprise value for both privately held and large multinational public companies. In addition, he has authored numerous corporate finance articles for various professional journals, magazines and periodicals.

David Olsson

David Olsson has over 15 years of experience in business integration, development and M&A in small and mid-market private, corporate and PE backed enterprises across UK and EMEA and North & South Africa. David has developed and delivered M&A deals, integrated, aligned and grown SME and corporate companies in UK, Russia, Turkey, Dubai, Egypt, Brazil, USA, Germany and Holland.

Dhruv Mehra

Dhruv Mehra is a Partner in Mercer US & Canada M&A Advisory Services business, based in San Francisco. Prior to his current role, he led the M&A Advisory services business for Mercer for the Asia Middle-east Africa region. He has over 20 years of human capital consulting experience and has worked on a broad range of assignments including cross-border M&A due diligence, do-by-close and post-close support for mergers, joint-ventures, spin-offs, carve-outs and reorganizations.

Donald H. Noble

Donald H Noble has a proven track record in finance and technology at high growth and start-up companies. He has extensive experience in
growth hacking in companies by integrating all components of finance accounting and technology into the strategic and tactical plans of the company.

Dr. Alexander Herzfeldt

People and results-oriented professional combining both strategy consulting experience (strategy development, M&A, reorganization) and software consulting experience (custom software development, digital service development, digital transformation) with a proven sales record. Offering 10 years of industry experience mainly in the LifeSciences and Software industries and being delivery responsible for multiple consulting and software development projects at any point in time. Consistently surpassing clients’ expectations by building on strong team skills, analytical skills, an ownership mindset, and unique intercultural skills.

Dr. Hermann Ali Hinderer

Dr. Hermann Ali Hinderer is a Partner at Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek with extensive experience with regards to all legal aspects of an M&A transaction. He has been admitted as a lawyer since 2004 in Germany and 2009 in California, USA. Hermann has advised corporate investors and private equity funds on numerous domestic and cross-border transactions (buy-side and sell-side) accross a broad range of industries, including but not limited to automotive, IT, health-care and mechanical engineering. A special mention is to be made about his extremely broad and in-depth knowledge and his ability to quickly identify pitfalls in a transaction.

Ellen Federman

Ellen Federman focuses on business and HR strategy and complex project management within the context of corporate transactions. Her recent client engagements include: developing and delivering innovative global post-merger cultural integration program for a German-headquartered biopharmaceutical company involving 1,000 workshops in dozens of languages, conducting strategy development, organizational effectiveness and process redesign studies across a wide range of industries and functions, and providing organization design support for the largest oil and gas merger in Canadian history, with particular focus on achievement of synergy targets

Gabe Langerak

Gabe Langerak partners with organizations going through transactions from an HR perspective and coordinates support, marketing and intellectual
capital development in Europe. Throughout the stages of an M&A, Gabe assists multinational companies on all aspects of their compensation and benefit arrangements, managing projects on the HR impacts of the transaction, cross border and multi-country benefit and compensation reviews, benefit audits and pension due diligence c:ind purchase price adjustments.

Guilia Vignolo

Giulia Vignola is an international lawyer and attorney, qualified to practice both in France and Italy. Giulia works as a legal advisor in international contracts and negotiations for M&As, corporate and commercial contracts and agreements. As an expert in international law and international relations, and through a large network built in several years of work experience in numerous countries (France, UK, Hungary, USA, China, Japan, Russia), she has assisted clients in their management of multi-disciplinary efforts to advance large-scale internalization projects including joint ventures. She also acts as a trial attorney for specific legal disputes in front of first- and second degree courts of law and courts of arbitration.

Hanna Heinz

Hanna is part of Mercer’s M&A advisory practice and advises clients in all aspects of HR M&A from Due Diligence over PMO and Carve Outs until Integrations.
Before joining Mercer in 2022, Hanna gained over 4 years of relevant consulting and HR experience, including in a manufacturing company with focus on C&B.

Haze Zhang

Haze Zhang is a Senior Principal and Mercer’s M&A Advisory Services Leader for Greater China and SEA. She specializes in undertaking operational and HR diligence and leading post deal integration engagements for private equity and corporate clients. Haze is also proficient in identifying and quantifying synergy benefits and related implementation costs.

Helen Curtis

Dual-qualified in the USA and UK, Helen has vast knowledge and experience in business acquisitions and disposals, investment rounds, MBOs, restructuring and other corporate work. She acts for start-ups and SME companies, partnerships, entrepreneurs, investors and shareholders. For the first eight years of her career, Helen worked at international firm Shearman & Sterling. Prior to Devonshires, Helen was a Partner at Gannons Solicitors.

Jad Barakat

Jad Barakat has extensive experience in due diligence and has managed a wide range of cross-border as well as domestic transactions. He has expert knowledge in I FRS, financial analysis, transaction processing and business strategy.

Jennifer Will

Jennifer is an organizational psychologist and has about 10 years of consulting experience. She primarily works in HR M&A projects. Apart from that she has broad experience in the area of talent selection and development as well as organizational diagnostics. Prior to her career at Mercer, Jennifer worked for PwC and a boutique HR consultancy.

Jeremiah Gurusamy

Jeremiah is a Partner at Ramesh Dipendra Jeremiah Law who heads the Banking & Finance and Employment practice groups of the firm. His focus area also includes Corporate and Commercial work. Jeremiah comes with a wealth of experience having worked in the corporate sector since 1997 prior to entering active legal practice.

Jonas Darke

Jonas Darke

Jonas is a seasoned corporate development executive with a strong background in M&A, Sourcing and in complex transformation programs for global organizations. He has solid leadership experience from driving large projects and from several CEO positions. He has held leading positions and consulted in different industries including Telcoo, IT, Media, Life Science and the Public Sector.Jonas spent 12 years in the consulting industry where he founded and managed consulting companies with focus on Telco R&D and advisory services.

Kelvin Teo

Kelvin has 15 years of experience, predominantly across global asset management, buy-side equity research and investment banking platforms. He also has experience in a climate technology startup leading the Series B fundraising round with global and corporate VC investors. His journey within financial services has taken him across highly matrixed MNC banks and Chinese asset management platforms as an investment banker within the former and a DM Equities Portfolio Manager/Analyst for the latter.

Konrad Deiters

Konrad is Mercer’s Global Consulting Leader Career and the Leader of M&A Transaction Services EuroPac. He has more than 17 years of experience developing and executing business strategy. Konrad works closely with senior executives at multinational clients and private equity firms on a variety of HR issues. He has particular expertise in The Future of Work and the Workforce, Digitization of HR, People and HR Strategy, Mergers & Acquisitions, Rewards Pooling and Financing and Culture Change.

Martin Howard

Whether in a start-up or public company environment, he provides strong operational leadership to deliver secure, high-performing, scalable and cost-effective information platforms.

Michelle Henriksen

A dynamic HR leader with 25+ years of global HR experience, advising clients in all aspects of the employee lifecycle with the goal of maximizing efficiencies, leveraging technology, and promoting equitable and consistent employee policies and practices. As a strategic partner to human resources professionals and executive leadership teams, Michelle have assisted organizations in raising performance levels by understanding and mitigating people issues associated with mergers and acquisitions, right sizing organizations through restructuring/turnaround events, and advising on human resources practices, statutory requirements, and culture when expanding operations internationally. She spent her career working in both industry and professional services at Accenture, Zulkie Partners, Huron Consulting Group, Walgreens USA, Grant Thornton, and FGMK. In 2022, she founded HG4 Advisory.

Mohand Al-Ansari

Mohand is part of the Middle East Deals Tax Practice with over 15 years of experience advising Private Equity houses, Sovereign Wealth Funds, regional and global alternative asset managers and large corporates on transactions within and outside the Middle East region.

Before moving to the Middle East 8 years ago, he worked in the Private Equity and M&A Tax team in PwC London. In the Middle East, he has been driving the expansion of our regional Deals Tax offering and team, and leading the delivery of tax due diligence, tax structuring, SPA, tax modelling and other Deals Tax services to priority clients in the UAE, KSA, Kuwait and Bahrain.

Nadia Couper

Nadia is a partner leading the HR Transactions practice for EY in Switzerland. She has over 12 years of experience in both acquisition and carveout projects across all sectors, with a special focus on people and HR topics. Nadia’s primary focus has been on complex cross-border integration and separation projects, in particular specializing in people matters such as HR functional topics (payroll/benefits setup, employee contract updates, etc.), cultural alignment, change and communications.

Before joining EY in December 2022, Nadia has had over 10 years of experience in Consulting across the M&A lifecycle.

Nadia is a native English speaker, is fluent in French, has a BSc in Biochemistry, and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA).

Nikhil Uppal

Nikhil currently sits on the board of multiple organizations and provide advise and direction to senior leaders / CXOs apart from helping these firms find product-market-fit, design and develop the GTM and pricing, become investor ready and scale via enterprise sales. Nikhil has ~ 20 years of experience in Private Equity, Entrepreneurship, Management Consulting and Hi-Tech industry.

Paran Puvanesan

Prior to setting up AKINA, Paran was an Executive Director with PwC Malaysia and was with them for over 23 years. Paran has provided IPO related advisory, deal structuring, joint venture advisory, project managed a restructuring exercise of a public listed company, evaluated rescue schemes for ailing listed companies and advised on public to private exercises of listed companies in Malaysia. Paran spent 2 years with PwC in London, focusing on Private Equity clients and undertaking due diligence related work in Europe and Asia. Paran has been involved in originating and executing deals with a total value to date of more than RM1 billion.

Paran has had the experience of working as Chief Strategy Officer for the founder/entrepreneur of the largest money services business in Malaysia with Fintech presence and aspirations in the e-wallet/payments services business.

Paran was awarded the prestigious British Government’s Chevening Scholarship to pursue his undergraduate degree in the United Kingdom. Paran is a Chartered Accountant as he is a Fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) as well as a member of the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA). He is also a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants.

Patricia Aira

Patricia is a highly accomplished lawyer with a Ph.D. in law, specializing in international banking, finance, and corporate law. With over 15 years of professional expertise, she has advised clients from diverse sectors, including banking, media, entertainment, technology, healthcare, and the public sector. Patricia is the founder of Pactarialegal, an M&A legal boutique firm. Her specialized areas encompass M&A, tax equity, cross-border transactions, project finance, public procurement, and comprehensive banking legal advisory services, including support for startups.

Paul Pollock

Paul J. Pollock is a partner in the New York office of Crowell & Moring and concentrates his practice on mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance. He provides ongoing representation to middle market private equity sponsors, family offices and their portfolio companies, as well as public and private companies that are not sponsor backed. Paul’s industry experience includes representing clients in financial services, manufacturing, telecommunications, fintech, software products, publishing and entertainment, with recent emphasis on the healthcare and biotech industries.

Pramod Kumar

Tax Director with over two decades of experience in international tax law, finance, and digital transformations, including senior management roles at Big 4 and Fortune 500 in Asia, Europe & North America Region. Experienced in M&A, digital taxation, transfer pricing, and tax-efficient strategies. Proficient in Project Management, O365, Power BI, and Finance Digital Transformations. Actively integrates AI, IoT, and cloud technologies to revamp business processes. Critical thinker and effective communicator skilled in cross-cultural team collaboration.

Prof. Andrew Campbell

Andrew Campbell is the Director of Ashridge Strategic Management Centre part of Ashridge Executive Education which is the executive education arm of Hult International Business School. Program Director for courses Advanced Organization Design and Designing Operating Models. Consultant to large and small companies around the world. Director of Sonae, Portugal’s largest privately owned company. Author of more than ten books on business strategy, corporate-level strategy, the role of corporate headquarters, decision making, organization design and, most recently, operating models.

Prof. David J. Brophy, PhD

David’s research focuses on pricing of private equity and initial public offerings of common stock and characteristics of the venture capital market. He also was the principal investigator on “Prospects for Small Business and Entrepreneurship in the 21st Century,” a White House Conference on Small Business. He also directs the longest running, university based venture capital market intervention for emerging growth comanies (The Midwest Growth Capital Symposium).

Rick Marchese

Rick Marchese (Director, Head of Corporate Finance) is an experienced Wall Street and Silicon Valley investment banker having executed over 50 transactions in excess of US$10 billion in aggregate value. His expertise includes capital raising and M&A advisory assignments for a wide range of public and private clients.

Previously, Rick served as a senior banker at Deutsche Bank and Merrill Lynch. He began his investment banking career at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette (subsequently acquired by Credit Suisse).
He is a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) and is a member of The Family Firm Institute and The Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Advisors.

Robert Seber

Robert Seber is head of our Investment Management practice. He is highly experienced in the full cycle of private equity funds – including fund formation, carry and equity arrangements, governance, investments, and exits – and has a profound knowledge of market trends. He has formed multiple energy and infrastructure funds with innovative terms that reflect the nuances of investments in these industries. Robert also represents companies and investors in financial services industries.

Robert is an adjunct professor of law at New York University School of Law, where he teaches a class on energy transition. He is a frequent panelist on private equity and energy policy topics.

Roger Cooper

Roger Cooper leads Cleary’s securities and M&A litigation practice.
He has successfully litigated more than fifty shareholder, class action and derivative actions arising out of securities, M&A, corporate governance, and other commercial disputes.
Roger is internationally recognized as a leader in corporate litigation by ranking publications including The Legal 500, Benchmark Litigation, and Chambers USA.

Roula Khaled

Roula Khaled is a lawyer and regional senior legal counsel with Majid Al Futtaim Ventures in Dubai, UAE. She specializes in corporate, commercial, IP and litigation. Roula has 16 years of experience as a legal consultant with a diversified and strong background in internal and international business law. Roula has extensive knowledge in directing all external litigation matters and negotiating as well as advising on and drafting documentation in relation to high level transactions, including dispositions, mergers and acquisitions and the restructuring of companies.

Satyaprakash Pande

Satyaprakash Pandey has approximately 19 years of hands-on management consulting and program delivery experience, leading private equity-backed and corporate carve-out and post-merger integration (PMI) engagements. His expertise spans business and digital transformation and IT due diligence (ITDD) across the deal lifecycle, including pre-sign, sign to close, and post-close phases.

Since 2021, Satyaprakash Pandey has established CIDEK Consulting, providing consulting services either personally or through associates working for CIDEK. He also works as an individual contributor outside or inside IR35 contracts, depending on the client’s needs. Seng Leong Teh

Seng Leong is a partner with Ernst & Young in Singapore. He runs the ASEAN Transaction Diligence practice and is also EY’s Global Real Estate, Hospitality and Construction M&A Leader. Seng Leong has been with Ernst & Young Singapore for more than 20 years. He spent 3 years with the Ernst & Young Transaction Advisory Services group in New York where he was involved in various real estate transactions including the merger of Hilton USA and Hilton PLC and the acquisition of a stake in Kerzner by lstithmar JSPC.

Tom Allen

Tom Allen is a Chartered Accountant (ACA) and a member of the ICAEW. An alumnus of the Big Four firm PwC, he holds undergraduate and master’s degrees in Economics. He is the former CEO and co-founder of Navima, a SaaS M&A platform, and previously served as the Head of M&A and Corporate Development at Midaxo. With extensive experience leading over 40 M&A transactions end-to-end, including buy and sell side and cross-border deals, Tom has authored M&A playbooks for global companies such as Shell, KPMG, EY, Unilever, Philips, and Cognizant, as well as for numerous highly acquisitive PE-backed companies. Additionally, he contributes as a guest lecturer on M&A topics for Warwick Business School’s EMBA program and is a speaker at global M&A conferences.
