In the event that the due diligence was performed by an outsourced professional while the post merger integration team is in-house. How do we ensure a smooth transition from the closing of transaction to post merger integration?

Did the due diligence include an integration considerations? Was there a de-brief or hand-off between the teams? I would suggest that teams meet and discuss some key takeaways.

I would recommend that regardless of whether due diligence was done in house or outsourced, the key stakeholders should be involved in the process, kept up to speed during due diligence and have a post-close readout. That allows the integration team plenty of time to absorb the information and know the direction they need to take on day 1 and beyond.
