Opportunism can often supersede an established strategy. Any thoughts on remaining vigilant when an applealing transaction presents itself?

I think opportunity and strategy can coincide together but you are right in thinking sometimes because an opportunity presents itself, it might look interesting but might not fully match with the internal strategy of a company.
I think like any opportunity, it should be properly analysed and a company should do its due diligence, remaining honest with what they think this opportunity could bring (Value creation). Sometimes, companies have a strategy but remaining open to opportunities could bring them the value they never though they could get.
