When we have internal project managers handle the integration of a new company, we have the tendency to keep them working with the new company for all future product work as well. What is a good way to close out the integration and had over the product support work when the two companies are fully integrated from the M&A?
I prefer to have a succession plan in place for all resources that actively contribute to M/A activities. These are resources with tremenduous knowledge gained from the M/A activities and should be rewarded with a challenging new position that leverages the expertise gain and used during the integration process.
