About the International M&A Certificate
Constructed by leading faculty members and M&A experts from the industry in a multi-year effort, the IM&A is the only globally oriented Mergers & Acquisitions Certificate Program. It is based on our unique framework and Body of Knowledge of Mergers & Acquisitions which provides a holistic view of the entire M&A process. The courses can be taken online, onsight or a combination of the two. It is suitable for all career level professionals.

The Body of Knowledge for Mergers & Acquisitions
The Institute for Mergers, Acqusittions and Alliances has created the first standard in M&A by creating the Body of Knowledge for Mergers & Acquisitions (as of June 2016). It is curated by international M&A experts and faculty on a regular basis and currently going through a revision to be published in February 2017.

The institution is responsible for overseeing the professional activities of charterholders in practice, and ensuring that education and training standards are maintained. IMAA’s M&A certificates and M&A courses can be accepted as continued education for CPAs of Ireland.
Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants
Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA), established in 1973´, is the only institution authorized by law to register and grant practicing certificates to CPAs in Hong Kong. The organization has more than 39’000 members and more than 18’000 registered students. M&A certificates and trainings offered by the Institute can be accepted as continued education for HKICPA charterholders.
Institute of Chartered Accountants in English and Wales
The Institute of Chartered Accountants in English and Wales (ICAEW) consists of over 147’000 members and provides professional development opportunities, resources, and guidance for ICAEW Chartered Accountants. IMAA’s M&A trainings and certificates can be accepted as Continued Education for ICAEW Charterholders.
CPA Australia is one of the largest accounting organizations in the world with a membership of more than 155’000 members working internationally in 118 counties across the globe. Over 25’000 members have senior leadership positions. The Institute for Mergers, Acquisitions and Alliances certificate programs and M&A trainings are accepted as continued education for CPA Australia Charterholders.
The CFA Institute is a global association of investment professionals which provides the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. The CFA Institute requires every CFA holder to participate in continuing education (CE) programs on a yearly basis. Through a rigorous application process, the CFA Institute recognizes only the top educational providers for CFA professionals to complete their CE requirements with. How long does it take to complete the M&A Certificate?
The IM&A Certification is designed as a part-time program for professionals. The total time of completion depends on your prior background and time you can devote to this. In total it may take about 100 hours of study. Our fastest participants complete it within 2 months.
How many participants take your M&A programs?
Each year, our Institute and faculty train more than 5’000 people in Mergers & Acquisitions, Due Diligence, Valuation and Post Merger Integration (PMI) trainings all around the world.
What is included in the fee?
Our tution fees include all mandatory study materials. In addition to an electronic version of your M&A certificate after completing the program, you will also receive a printed version sent by post at no additional costs.
What is the difference to other training providers?
Compared with academic executive education offerings, our faculty members are not pure academics – they have closed M&A deals as professionals themselves. So you don’t gain only purely theoretical insights, but you will learn hands-on knowledge. Compared with for-profit providers, we are purely focussed on M&A trainings and bring in a solid foundation, great structured approach to learning, and the international dimension.
When can I enroll for and start with the IM&A Certificate?

What is the difference to other certificate programs?
If you compare our programs with the CFA, CAIA, CIMA, or others – we are purely focussed on M&A only and are very complementary to these programs. There is very little overlap among the content and insights that our programs provide.
Can I take the M&A Certicate completely online?
Yes, you can take the entire program online from anywhere in the world or while travelling. This is what many of our participants do. For the completition of the IM&A Certification there is no physical attendence neccessary. However, you can combine online with onsite workshops to reach your designation.
