I am interested in how the success of an integration is influenced by one or both companies having a strong Mission-focus (aka being “Mission-driven”). My hypothesis is that if both companies have strong Missions that are similar, that would support a smooth integration. However, if both companies have strong Missions that are very different, that would pose a challenge to integration. If one company is strongly Mission-driven, but the other isn’t, it may not be as much of a problem if the Mission-driven company is the one acquiring, but it could cause problems if it is the company being acquired. I’d welcome any stories or examples that prove or disprove my hypothesis.
