Any thoughts on how chatGPT kind of product can help in M&A?
July 11, 2024 at 3:55 pm #115267OanaParticipantData synthetization of publicly available information
July 25, 2024 at 1:22 pm #117099ChuwkudaaluParticipantChatGPT can aid M&A bankers through brainstorming M&A planning, identifying other due diligence areas to identify, aid financial modelling & pitchbook and preparing questions to ask executives.
July 25, 2024 at 8:03 pm #117118Jeff SewellParticipantI agree with the previous comments on this post but would also add that communications materials that could address topics from M&A announcements to internal PMI communications would be a potential use. I do however have a caveat of making sure the data is trustworthy. AI LLM’s haven’t been proven to be completely honest. Leverage but also check the results.
August 1, 2024 at 4:32 pm #117925Brandon Santos, PMPParticipantAI Chat bots should be used to supplement existing decision making, it is most successfully in stress testing an hypothesis or validating/finding similar problems or situations that come up in PMI. Using a LLM to synthesize lessons learned would be a great application, but as always, use with caution.

However, I used ChatGPT to familiarize myself with the world of M&A processes as a newcomer. I had many terms and situations explained to me that my supervisor couldn’t fully cover in the given time.

August 12, 2024 at 8:03 am #118992Haytham WehbeParticipantChatGPT could enhance efficiency by quick processing and analyzing large volumes of data. It may also analyze market trends and identify potential targets which are critical points in M&A process.
September 13, 2024 at 2:41 pm #122599Daniel StocksParticipantGreat answers here and some real good information shared.
September 24, 2024 at 10:23 pm #124483Benjamin ErvinParticipantChat GPT is a language model. Language models have a wide variety of applications, but one that I could see used in terms of M&A That I haven’t seen yet is in FAQs. Acquired company employees often have tremendous trepidation about the transition and what it means for their job. A language model could be used to help act as an FAQ for employee concerns and questions in real-time.
September 26, 2024 at 10:35 pm #124966Cristina GirtuParticipantChatGPT can improve efficiency, data analysis, and communication when you do the target identification and dd. Can be a good support also for the Integration process automation.
November 12, 2024 at 12:41 am #129708Mohamed SolimanParticipantNot sure if ChatGPT will help with the newest up to date data, but definitely it can help in listing the M&A process, steps, requirements, etc. Also will might help with historical data but won’t count on it as it sometime give wrong information.
January 8, 2025 at 2:15 pm #134166JonathanParticipantAI tools can significantly enhance/ facilitate M&A processes by streamlining planning, testing assumptions and improving communication. They can do data analysis, content adaptation that can for instance support due diligence and integration planning.
However, the biggest part of integration is human management, building trust, resolving conflicts and fostering relationships , areas that remain exclusively in the domain of human leadership and emotional intelligence.January 8, 2025 at 3:44 pm #134170Maria LewisParticipantIt could potentially assist Finance teams with financial modeling for deals – creating different financial scenarios based on the potential acquisition terms and it could provide insights into possible financial outcomes from various deal structures (cash vs. stock).
January 10, 2025 at 3:46 pm #134294LER SER YENGParticipantSuggest 100 days post merger integration plans, key areas to focus in a target company.
