In my experience with Legal Due Diligence (Legal DD) in M&A transactions, I frequently use Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools to support various stages of the due diligence process.

Subject to strict confidentiality obligations, data protection requirements, and information security policies, I use AI to assist with due diligence planning and scheduling, document review and analysis, preliminary identification of legal and regulatory risks, and the preparation of due diligence reports and executive summaries.

AI significantly improves efficiency in reviewing large volumes of documents, organizing information, and identifying potential legal issues. This allows legal professionals to focus more on critical risk assessments, transaction negotiations, and strategic legal advice.

However, I believe that AI should serve as a supporting tool rather than a substitute for professional legal judgment. All significant AI-generated findings and legal conclusions must be carefully reviewed and verified by qualified legal professionals to ensure accuracy, reliability, and regulatory compliance.
