How to drive integration with apathetic participation?

    Through the various acquisitions that I have been a part of, there is often a lack of positive participation for the acquired companies participants. Often times, the lack of willing participation actually becomes quite detrimental to the integration efforts, leading to loss of time, customers, and recognized synergies. What are examples that you have experienced to combat this phenomenon?
