How do you value a company or a deal? Also, what are the most recognized methodologies, and in your opinion, what methodology is more relevant to oil and gas and why?
In academia, DCF is the most recognisable valuation methodology. When it comes to investment banking Comparables, Precedent Transactions and DCF are widely used. LBO analysis also could be used to determine the lowest price. I am not an expert in oil and gas but would assume that the same methodologies are valid for these industries.
