Technical skills (accounting, financial modeling, legal, etc.), commercial and strategic vision can take one only so far. Psychology is known to play a significant role as well.
What would you say are 3 mindsets that would make a seller more likely to be successful during the M&A process?
What would you say are 3 mindsets that would make a buyer more likely to be successful during the M&A process?
I think the mindsets for sellers or buyers can be the same to be successful.
I would think that if the people’s mindset is:
– Humble: Handle each other with respect. Not one needs to feel better than the other.
– Curious: Ask questions to each other, to better learn each other.
– Cooperative: With a cooperative mindset you try to avoid getting into “them” and “us”, but you jointly become 1 team.
Just my humble view. I am curious what others will reply.
