As a deal progresses through Due Diligence and Integration Planning, how are you structuring teams to support both efforts simultaneously, keeping both motions distinctly separate but aligned?
Our due diligence is typically a smaller sub-set of our integration team. We have some cross-over so that due diligence informs integration and vice versa, but the larger integration team is not involved in due diligence.
I am currently working on a Due Diligence knowledge transfer checklist. I am listing all items my PAI team would need in order to hit the ground running shortly post-close.
In my experience the due diligence team is normally a smaller team of Subject matter experts at a senior level, with some having responsibilities within the integration tea. Key is to have a group of senior executive voices across both the teams.
