I’d be interested to hear how others approach communication with employees during an M&A integration.
Do you use any regular formats or communication routines, such as monthly updates, one-pagers, town halls, or newsletters? And how do you decide what is worth communicating, especially when not all topics are relevant to all employees?
I’m particularly interested in how you structure and frame these updates so that they provide transparency without creating the feeling that there needs to be a “big news” update every month. What has worked well in your experience, and what would you avoid?

A combination of regular town halls, brief monthly updates and smaller team discussions is what I have observed in my past experience. Communication should focus on what has changed, what remains uncertain and what employees can expect next. Not every update needs major news. Consistency, honesty and opportunities for two-way dialogue are more important than the volume of information shared.
