    In my experience, fear mostly grows when there is silence. Clear communication helps a lot, but you also need a proper retention plan. We try to identify key people very early and make sure they know their role in the future organisation. For some roles it is worth having a financial retention package — either to stay for a certain period or to complete specific integration milestones. It gives stability and reduces the impact of competitors trying to headhunt during the uncertainty.
