In managing integration of an acquired startup, what are traits you seek to retain in key roles long term?

Example, I have integrated a startup with a legacy organization, where the startup’s leadership culture had a high level of sales influence. Added parameters were put into place upon integration with the legacy org, however, one priority was to retain the sales element which led to initial success.

When integrating a startup, I think it’s important to focus on retaining agility to keep innovation and quick decision-making, and the entrepreneurial spirit that drives proactive leadership. If sales played a big role in the startup’s success, it’s crucial to maintain that sales-driven culture while adding structure from the legacy organization. The key is balancing these traits to ensure long-term success without losing what made the startup thrive.
