The company consists of two equally entitled companies with their own shares and the corresponding two general meetings, but the Management Board is the same. One company is located in Rotterdam as Unilever N.V. and the other one in London as Unilever PLC. Unilever emerged from the merger of “Margarine Unie” and “Lever Brothers Ltd”. in 1929/30. Margarine Unie relies on a Margarine producer founded in 1888 and Lever on a soap production founded in 1885. Unilever foods:
