is a Swiss bank headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland. It is one of the 30 banks that are classified as an “important financial institution” and are therefore subject to special requirements for equity and special monitoring. This supervisory function is adopted by the “FINMA”. Today the bank converts approximately 2700 billion CHF, has approximately 60000 employees and is traded on the SIX Swiss and the NYSE.
Officially, the history of the bank goes back to 1862. However, today’s UBS is a result of the merger of the Swiss banking corporation and the Union bank of Switzerland in 1998.
