An interesting opinion concerns this issue was presented by R.N. Ashkenas, L.J.Demonaco, S.C.Francis in a HBR’s article titled “Making the Deal Real: How GE Capital Integrates Acquisitions”. The GE Capital starts the post-merger integration process during due diligence processes.
“The head of the due diligence effort convened a series of end-of-day meetings for the functional captains of the various due-diligence teams (including finance, operations, systems, human resources, and sales) to discuss what they had learned each day and to develop preliminary plans for managing the acquisition after the deal closed”.
