I would say preparedness in advance is paramount, particularly around communication. Being clear on the deal messaging, making sure all the leaders are aligned on this, ensuring management is communicated with and allowed to ask questions in advance, so they can support the team, knowing what the potential issues/resistances are and being prepared for them with your communication, and communicating to staff in a clear, transparent, positive way.
